Drogba thinking positive before quarter-final clash

Didier Drogba still believes Chelsea will overcome Fenerbahce to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League despite their setback in Turkey.

Chelsea lost the first leg of their quarter-final 2-1 on Wednesday but the crucial away goal gives the Blues a slight advantage ahead of next week's return showdown at Stamford Bridge.

The Ivorian striker admitted the result against the Turks was particularly disappointing but insisted all is not lost.

'It was a very disappointing result, but I believe we can still go through after the next game,' said Drogba.

'But the result is not a good result for us so we will want to work on it and see what didn't work against Fenerbahce.'

But while Drogba remained upbeat, German midfielder Michael Ballack was a little more cautious.

The Germany captain warned his team-mates they risk losing everything with lapses in concentration.

Fenerbahce snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in Istanbul after Avram Grant's men looked in total control and cruising towards the Champions League semi-finals.

'It's the Champions League and you have to concentrate for the 90 minutes,' said Ballack, who famously lost out on three trophies in little over a week with Bayer Leverkusen.

'One second that you don't concentrate, you concede a goal and the game changes.

'It was our fault against Fenerbahce because we controlled the game, had everything in our hands but didn't concentrate for every second. That's our fault. We have another game to put it right.

'It's very disappointing when you have everything in your hands and throw it away. It should not happen but it did and we have to put a line under it.

'We are disappointed because we had a big chance to win and we had the game taken out of our hands.

'We had two good chances made for Didier to score the second goal but we did not concentrate enough, but we will have another go next week.

'It was our fault we gave it up. But it was a good game. We are strong gh at home but we have to concentrate.

'Fenerbahce are a strong team even after going 1-0 down. They played seven or eight players up front.

'They can score away from home, so we will have to concentrate, but everything is in our hands and I am looking forward to next week.'

Goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini also believes victory is within Chelsea's capability at Stamford Bridge.

'Sometimes you need to close the game and it can happen like it has happened this season, where the opposition get the chance and they score,' he added

'It happened against Fenerbahce and then, with the supporters and the atmosphere, we conceded the second one, which of course makes things complicated.

'But we have shown that we have everything to play for and we can beat them at the Bridge.'
