Lyon captain Cris has admitted he is unlikely to be fit in time to face Manchester United in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.
The Brazil defender has not featured for the French champions since tearing ligaments in his right knee in August, but was on the bench for last week's 1-1 first-leg draw.
But a muscular inflammation ruled Cris out of his side's 2-0 victory over Metz on Saturday and, although he could face Lille three days earlier, the 30-year-old confirmed he is likely to miss the Old Trafford clash on March 4.
'I think really that I won't be ready to face Manchester,' Cris told French sports daily L'Equipe.
'It's not the speed that worries me, but the rhythm because Manchester will put pressure on us that could give me problems.'
