Alain Moizan appointed as new Mauritania coach
NOUAKCHOTT, Feb 17 (Reuters) - Frenchman Alain Moizan has been appointed the new coach of Mauritania, the country's football federation said.
The 54-year-old, who was born in Senegal, is a former French international.
He was previously coach of Mali in 2004, but was fired after just four matches of the 2006 World Cup qualifying campaign.
Moizan will take charge of Mauritania's campaign for the 2010 finals. They begin their qualifiers in June and are in the same group as Ethiopia, Morocco and Rwanda.
