Megson: Trotters failed in late Lita deal
Bolton boss Gary Megson has revealed he failed with a £7million bid to sign Reading striker Leroy Lita. Wanderers, who play the Royals in the Premier League tomorrow, were desperate to boost their firepower after selling top scorer Nicolas Anelka to Chelsea last month. They completed the loan signing of Southampton's Grzegorz Rasiak on transfer deadline day yesterday, and Megson has not given up hope of buying England Under-21 star Lita in the summer as long as Bolton avoid relegation. He said in The Sun: 'We had a £7million bid turned down - that shows our intention to get out of this position - but it may be a goer in the summer.'
