Injuries force Ghana to ponder changes
ACCRA, Jan 23 (Reuters) - Ghana could have to reshuffle their defence for Thursday's African Nations Cup match against Namibia in Accra, coach Claude Le Roy said.
Key centre back John Mensah and his partner John Paintsil are both doubts and Russian-based Shilla Illiasu has yet to recover from the ankle injury that kept him out of the opening Group A game against Guinea on Sunday.
Paintsil suffered concussion in the 2-1 win over Guinea at the Ohene Djan stadium and remembered little of the game, eventually being carried off on a stretcher in the final minute. He was later to taken to hospital for observation but released.
Mensah did not train as he nursed a thigh strain and Paintsil is still being watched by the Black Stars' medical team, the coach said.
If Ghana win Thursday's match, they will likely qualify for the quarter-finals.
