Finnish striker Litmanen training with Fulham

Former Liverpool striker Jari Litmanen is training with Fulham, the club have announced on their website.

The 36-year-old will be reunited with Cottagers boss Roy Hodgson whom he played under when he captained Finland.

Litmanen was captain during Finland's Euro 2008 qualifying campaign and over the past decade has earned 110 caps and scored 28 goals.

After starting his career with Reipas in his native country, Litmanen enjoyed European Cup success at Ajax.

He went on to play for Barcelona before spending 18 months at Anfield where he won the treble of the UEFA Cup, FA Cup and League Cup in 2001.

However, he never became an established first-team player under Gerard Houllier and moved on for his second spell at Ajax in the summer of 2002.

He has since been with Hansa Rostock of the Bundesliga and Swedish side Malmo FF.

Meanwhile, it is understood that Rangers have accepted an offer of £3million from Fulham for striker Daniel Cousin.

The Gabon international cost Rangers around £1million when he joined from Lens last August.

Cousin, 30, was the subject of an approach from the Cottagers yesterday and after the London side's initial offer was turned down they returned with an increased bid which met the asking price.

In 17 league appearances, Cousin hit eight goals for Rangers.
