League Two: Yakubu gives Barnet shock win at MK Dons

Runaway Coca-Cola League Two leaders Milton Keynes Dons are only eight points clear tonight after a surprise 1-0 defeat at home to Barnet. Paul Ince's team were shocked by a 22nd-minute goal from Ismail Yakubu and could not manage to muster a reply. A Derek Holmes hat-trick helped Rotherham up to second via a 3-1 win at Lincoln. Holmes was on target in the 24th, 57th and 84th minutes at Sincil Bank - where Lincoln were level at 1-1 for just a couple of minutes thanks to a Jamie Forrester equaliser and then finished with 10 men after Shane Clarke was sent off in the 90th. Veteran forward Peter Thorne's hat-trick gave Bradford a 3-0 win at home to Notts County. The much-travelled Thorne struck in the 34th, 58th and 90th minutes as the Bantams ran the show. Brentford had to work a little harder for their home win, 2-1 against Chesterfield after Gary Smith (25) and Glenn Poole (61) scored for the Bees and Jack Lester (41) was on target for the Spireites. Grimsby also eked out the points at home, 1-0 against bottom-of-the-league Wrexham - with Danny North scoring the 68th-minute winner. Mansfield took advantage of Wrexham's defeat, themselves winning 1-0 at Chester to move off the bottom. Midfielder Matthew Hamshaw scored their goal in the 49th minute. Darlington did it the Bradford way to stay in play-off contention. But they spread the goals around in their 3-0 win at home to Bury - Tommy Wright (12), Ian Miller (22) and on-loan defender Paul Mayo (58) on the scoresheet. Morecambe were 1-0 too good for struggling Dagenham & Redbridge but had to wait until the 90th minute for Matt Blinkhorn's winner at Christie Park. Peterborough lost ground among the play-off hopefuls as Macclesfield's Izak Reid scored the only goal of the game in the 37th minute at London Road, where the visitors held their advantage despite having Gareth Evans sent off early in the second half. Wycombe endured a similarly disappointing afternoon at Adams Park, a 90th-minute penalty from Rochdale defender Thomas Kennedy scrambling the 1-0 win for the Lancastrians. Stockport beat Accrington 2-0 thanks to first-half goals from Michael Rose and Anthony Elding at Edgeley Park.
