Sir Alex impressed with Ji-Sung after comeback

Sir Alex Ferguson is convinced Park Ji-sung's impressive energy levels can provide Manchester United with a major title push.

The South Korean returned to action at Sunderland on Boxing Day after nine months on the sidelines following cruciate knee ligament surgery.

It had been suggested Park would be little more than a bit-part player in United's quest for glory, especially now Nani is providing extra competition for Ryan Giggs.

However, the Scot is convinced the 26-year-old former PSV Eindhoven man has a big role to play over the remainder of the campaign.

'We are all pleased that Ji-sung has finally got some football under his belt,' said Ferguson.

'He is a natural mover who gives us a lot of energy.

'When the team passes the ball, he moves. He has always had the talent to do that and the more he can do that, the better.'

Having left Carlos Tevez and Patrice Evra on the bench at the Stadium of Light, allowed Giggs and Anderson to remain in Manchester and with Owen Hargreaves expected to be fit after a back strain, Ferguson has plenty of selection options ahead of tomorrow's trip to West Ham.

West Ham are notoriously hard opponents for the Red Devils to overcome and despite the Londoners' awful campaign last year, they still managed to record a domestic double over the Old Trafford outfit.

However, the usual vicious abuse for the visitors may be tempered by the presence of Tevez in United's ranks.

It was Tevez who guaranteed West Ham's Premier League survival last term with his winner at United on the final day and while the South American represents a major threat to Alan Curbishley's men, he is sure to be afforded a rapturous reception from the home fans.

With Tevez and Giggs to be included, at least two members of Wednesday's victorious team on Wearside will miss out for the new league leaders.

'It is not a selection dilemma, it is common sense,' said Ferguson, whose side will complete a 100% Premier League record in December if they win.
