N'Kufo salvages point for Twente against Ajax

AMSTERDAM, Dec 27 (Reuters) - Blaise N'Kufo struck two minutes into injury time to salvage a point for Twente Enschede with a 2-2 draw at Ajax Amsterdam in the Dutch league on Thursday.

Feyenoord, 2-0 winners against Sparta Rotterdam on Wednesday, are top with 35 points after 16 matches, two more then PSV Eindhoven, who suffered a 2-1 defeat at Groningen. Ajax remain third on 32 points.

Klaas Jan Huntelaar opened the scoring after 31 minutes with Stijn Huysegems equalising on the hour.

Huntelfar scored his second goal with 14 minutes remaining when Edson Braafheid deflected his free kick behind the keeper before N'Kufo gave the visitors their deserved point.

Cheikh Tiote struck in the first minute to hand Roda JC Kerkrade a deserved 1-0 home win over 10-men Heerenveen, who had Michel Breuer sent off after an hour for kicking.

Heerenveen remain fifth on goal difference above Twente and Roda, all with 29 points after 17 matches.

Santi Kolk put mid-table Vitesse Arnhem ahead at NAC Breda four minutes before the interval. Six minutes into the second half Harry Gommans doubled the lead after Vitesse goalkeeper Piet Velthuizen saved a penalty from Anthony Lurling.

Vitesse finished with 10 men after a late dismissal for Sebastien Sansoni for a handball and Edwin de Graaf converted a penalty in injury time for the host's consolation goal.

Utrecht cruised to a 4-1 home victory over lowly Excelsior Rotterdam to stay in touch with 27 points.

Kwame Quansah struck four minutes before time for Heracles Almelo, 15th with 13 points, to defeat bottom side Willem II Tilburg 1-0.
