Ronaldo to return to Brazil with Flamengo?

Brazilian giants Flamengo claim they have started negotiations to sign AC Milan striker Ronaldo. After rivals Sao Paulo agreed a six-month loan deal for Inter Milan frontman Adriano last week, Flamengo have now set their sights on bringing another big name back to Brazil. Flamengo president Kleber Leite has revealed talks have begun over acquiring the 31-year-old Ronaldo from the European and recently-crowned FIFA Club World Cup champions. 'Flamengo have been authorised by Milan to talk to Ronaldo,' Leite told Gazzetta. 'We have made contact with the player and we are certain he can launch his career again here. 'We have not yet spoken about money and how much we would have to give to his current club, but we have exchanged ideas and got the feeling that Ronaldo really wants to change his path, and the interest is reciprocated.' The 1994 and 2002 World Cup winner has recently undergone fitness tests with Brazil team doctor Jose Luiz Runco after suffering some pains in his left shin. Runco said: 'I have a good opinion of Ronaldo. He needs to play, whether that is in Brazil or anywhere else.' Leite used Runco's words to tantalise fans over the possible signing, adding: 'Both we and Ronaldo are interested and Runco has already given a positive medical report.'
