Coppa Italia: Inter stroll to win, Roma reverse
ROME, Dec 19 (Reuters) - Teenage forward Mario Balotelli scored twice as Inter Milan strolled to a 4-1 triumph at Reggina in the first leg of their Italian Cup last 16 tie on Wednesday but holders AS Roma suffered a 3-1 defeat at Torino.
Inter, who are seven points clear in Serie A, went ahead with a Hernan Crespo header in the 14th minute and Balotelli, 17, doubled the lead in the 29th.
Leonardo Pettinari pulled one back for Reggina in the 50th before Santiago Solari and Balotelli's second sealed the win for the Italian champions, who rested many regulars ahead of Sunday's derby with AC Milan.
Alvaro Recoba struck in both halves and Gianluca Comotto headed a late goal to give Torino a home victory over AS Roma, who scored just before the break through Brazilian midfielder Mancini.
Lazio came from behind to beat Napoli 2-1 in Rome, while Udinese and Palermo battled out a goalless tie.
European champions AC Milan, who beat Boca Juniors 4-2 in the Club World Cup final in Japan on Sunday, host Catania on Thursday.
Juventus lost 2-1 at Empoli two weeks ago while Fiorentina drew 1-1 at Serie B Ascoli last week when Cagliari put their league troubles behind them with a 1-0 home win over Sampdoria.
