Eredivisie: Farfan clincher helps PSV march on

AMSTERDAM, Dec 1 (Reuters) - Jefferson Farfan struck from close range on the stroke of halftime to earn PSV Eindhoven a 1-0 win at Graafschap Doetinchem in the Dutch league on Saturday.

Serbian Danko Lazovic set up Farfan for the opening goal but picked up two yellow cards in two minutes to give his team a tough final quarter.

PSV are top with 30 points after 13 matches, two ahead of Ajax Amsterdam who host NAC Breda on Sunday. Feyenoord, at home to Heracles Almelo, remain third with 25 points.

Roda JC Kerkrade earned a 3-2 home victory against Vitesse Arnhem to move into fourth with 22 points.

Roland Lamah struck a minute before and after the interval to give Roda a comfortable lead, while Jean Paul Saeijs added a third with 20 minutes to go.

In the final 13 minutes Sebastien Sansoni and Harrie Gommans scored for the visitors, who stay 12th with 17 points.

Bruno Silva set up Marcus Berg seven minutes into the second half to seal a 1-0 home win for Groningen against VVV Venlo.

Lowly Willem II Tilburg thrashed Excelsior Rotterdam, who had Daniel Guijo-Velasco sent off 18 minutes from the end, 6-0 to move away from the bottom spot.

On Friday Utrecht demolished Sparta Rotterdam 7-1 with Loic Loval scoring a hat-trick.
