FA Cup wrap: Hawks soar into third round

Blue Square South side Havant and Waterlooville continued their amazing FA Cup adventure as they shocked Notts County in the second round.

Tony Taggart scored with just three minutes remaining to secure a dramatic 1-0 win against their League Two opponents at Meadow Lane.

The Hawks beat York City at KitKat Crescent in the first round and will be dreaming of a tie with one of the big guns in tomorrow's third round draw.

Craig Mackail-Smith scored four goals as Peterborough ended plucky Staines Town's cup run.

Aaron McLean was also on target as the Posh thumped Steve Cordery's side 5-0 at Wheatsheaf Park.

Hereford once again overcame League One opposition as they brushed aside Hartlepool 2-0.

League Two Bulls, who knocked out Leeds in the first round, were indebted to goals from John McCombe and Theo Robinson as they booked their place in the potentially lucrative third round.

Swindon's Blair Sturrock netted with just two minutes remaining to dump Forest Green Rovers out of the competition.

Goals from Stuart Fleetwood and Mark Beesley looked enough to secure a 2-2 draw, but Sturrock popped up at the death to break the visiting fans' hearts.

Oxford held Southend to a goalless draw, while Bristol Rovers crushed Rushden & Diamonds 5-1.
