Premier Showdown - Nov 24/25

So it was family honour for Padraig Smyth in the last round as Tommy's nephew recorded only the second victory of the season for the Rest of the World team.

Could this be the start of something big? Could the back-to-back champions claw away at the huge deficit to Dale Johnson at the top of the table? There's a long way to go and, just like last season, the ROTW may need to take it right to the wire to defend their crown.

We've got another special edition this week as the ROTW will be represented by Richard Allen. Richard has just arrived at Soccernet Towers from foreign fields to oversee ESPNsoccernet's increasingly popular sites in French, Spanish, Italian and German.

As he is taking charge of our non-English sites it seems only right to introduce him as a ROTW competitor!

Richard tells us: 'I am confident of flattening Dale Johnson in his own backyard. As for Tommy Smyth, you can see - from his points score - why he's such a football expert.

'A too long suffering Nottingham Forest fan, I can safely say I am confident of victory and ultimately a return to the glory days.'

Let's play!

Each week one of our readers, or an ESPNSoccernet Press Pass viewer, has the chance to challenge our two experts.

Soccernet's Premier League Editor, Dale Johnson, and Press Pass pundit Tommy Smyth take up the test.

They, along with the challenger, cast their eyes over weekend's top flight fixtures in England and predict how they think each game will turn out.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total is added to the 'Rest of the World's' tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared between those level on points.

It's a storming victory for Richard, including three correct scorelines, as he scores more than both Dale and Tommy combined! Could this be a sign of the future for the ROTW?

Table after Round 14:
Dale: 25
Rest of the World: 10
Tommy: 7

You can tune in to ESPNSoccernet Press Pass every Monday and Thursday.

So do you think you can beat the best of the best? Now is your chance to find out!

Send us your picks for the weekend's fixtures, along with your name and a few details about yourself. We'll select one person each week to take on our experts for the right to be crowned the weekly winner!

Then log on to Soccernet on Monday morning to find out who's taken the points.
