Baric quits as Albania coach
TIRANA, Nov 22 (Reuters) - Otto Baric stood down as Albania coach following the 6-1 Euro 2008 qualifying defeat by Romania on Wednesday.
'Upon reviewing the state of the team, he (Baric) said he was no longer able to manage the team and strong enough to continue working with the national side,' the Albanian soccer federation said in a statement.
Baric was the third foreign coach brought in by Albania since 1990 after Italy's Giuseppe Dossena and Germany's Hans-Peter Briegel.
Duka accepted Baric's resignation and thanked him for helping give a new image to a team which he said put on a 'good show' during Euro 2008 qualifying except in the last defeats by Belarus and Romania.
Albania finished fifth in qualifying Group G with 11 points from 12 matches.
