Skipper Terry determined to face Estonia

England captain John Terry is determined to line up for his country against Estonia on Saturday.

National team boss Steve McClaren may decide to rest the Chelsea defender, who is one booking away from a suspension, to make sure he is available for the second Euro 2008 qualifier in this international break against Russia in Moscow a week on Wednesday.

Terry, who wore a protective mask in his last two games for Chelsea after suffering a fractured cheekbone, insists he is ready for action.

He told the Daily Express: 'My body is holding up fine. I am just delighted to be out there. I will do my best to make sure I am fit to be there week in, week out.

'We will have a chat, but it is all about England and what is best and right for the team, whether it is me, Rio (Ferdinand), Ashley (Cole) or Joe (Cole). We are all on bookings.'

England midfielder David Bentley stands by his decision to withdraw from the under-21 squad for the European Championships in the summer, insisting he feels 'fresh and fit'.

'I only made the decision I made for the benefit of my football career. By making that decision I wanted to make sure I was in the best condition possible to play in the Premier League or the highest level.

'And I'm feeling fit. That is what you want at this stage of the season - to be fresh and fit.'

The Blackburn player has also revealed his opposition to FIFA president Sepp Blatter's plans to introduce a quota system to limit the number of foreign players per team.

'You hear people moaning about the detriment of foreign players to the English game,' Bentley said.

'But all the players coming in has made it better. It has made the level of performances better, so English players are better footballers.

'You don't want 100 average English players in the Premier League, you want 30 brilliant ones. I believe the talent has gone up and I am part of that.'
