SPL insist Hoops have no case to answer

The Scottish Premier League insist there would be no justification for an investigation into the conduct of Celtic supporters at Aberdeen.

It was reported that Celtic fans had been involved in sectarian chanting during Sunday's 3-1 win at Pittodrie in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League, and that the SPL were set to act.

However Celtic maintained that was not the case and the SPL have revealed that the match delegate's report praised the travelling fans.

One Hoops supporter was arrested after being picked out by a Celtic steward, but the Parkhead club stress it was an isolated incident of 'unacceptable conduct'.

A spokesperson for the SPL said: 'The SPL have no plans whatsoever to investigate the behaviour of Celtic fans at Sunday's match and at no time have we suggested that we might do so.

'Indeed the delegate's report complimented the behaviour of the Celtic fans and Celtic security procedures.'
