Denmark - Is anything possible?
China 2007 will be the fourth World Cup for Denmark having qualified for the 1991 and 1995 tournaments (where they were quarter-finalists) and USA 1999 (where they didn't get past the group stages).
But the current team, led by their coach, Kenneth Heiner-Moller, are aiming to better their previous record. The key player which will lead Heiner-Moller's World Cup campaign on the pitch is team captain Katrine Pederson.
She has earned over 129 caps for her country and is the steadying influence at the backbone of an experienced trio with Nielson in the middle of the park and Denmark's top international scorer Meret Pederson providing the firepower upfront.
The qualifying stages put Denmark up against Finland, Spain, Poland and Belgium. Their first two wins against Poland and Belgium got Denmark off to a good start, but they only managed to get a draw against Spain which left them to battle it out against Finland for the top qualifying spot.
Denmark narrowly got through with a 2-2 draw which ensured their place at this year's finals as the top team from UEFA.
Denmark is assured that they are well prepared for the finals and that their team can hold their own against any opponent inspiring an 'anything is possible' attitude for China 2007.
