CARSON, Calif. -- The Los Angeles Galaxy have traded midfielder Santino Quaranta to the New York Red Bulls for a conditional pick in the fourth round of next year's MLS draft.
"This move was made to address salary cap and roster spot issues," Galaxy president and general manager Alexi Lalas said Friday.
The 22-year-old Quaranta appeared in six games for the Galaxy this season -- three of them starts. He joined the Galaxy last August after spending the first 5 1/2 of his career with D.C. United. He scored three goals in 18 games with the Galaxy, and has 17 in 80 regular-season MLS games.
