Indonesia lose star men for Asian Cup

JAKARTA, June 18 (Reuters) - Indonesian coach Ivan Kolev named his squad for next month's Asian Cup on Monday, leaving out injured key strikers Boaz Salossa and Saktiawan. Boaz was injured in a friendly last month against Hong Kong and needs at least four months to recover, while Saktiawan was left out of the team on the very last day, the Asian Football Confederation's Web site reported. 'We are sorry for Boaz and Saktiawan. Once again, we have our 23 best players who are ready to give everything they can for Indonesia. That is the important thing,' said Kolev. The Asian Cup takes place from July 7-29 and will be co-hosted by Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam. SQUAD: Goalkeepers: Jendry Pitoy, Marcus Horison, Feri Rotinsulu. Defenders: Supardi, Ricardo Salampessy, Firmansyah, Charis Yulianto, Hary Saputra, Maman Abdurrachman, M Ridwan, Erol Iba. Midfielders: Ponaryo Astaman, Firman Utina, Mahyadi Panggabean, Eka Ramdhani, Syamsul Chaerudin, Atep. Strikers: Ismed Sofyan, Ellie Aiboy, Bambang Pamungkas, Budi Sudarsono, Zaenal Arief, Rahmat Rivai.
