COPENHAGEN, June 12 (Reuters) - FC Copenhagen captain and Swedish international Tobias Linderoth has signed a three-year deal with Turkey's Galatasaray, the Danish champions said on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old midfielder's new contract begins July 1. The clubs declined to disclose the transfer fee.
Linderoth has scored six goals in 127 matches for Copenhagen since arriving from Everton in 2004.
'My family and I have had a fantastic time in Copenhagen, with Danish titles and participation in the Champions League,' Linderoth said in a statement on the club's Web site.
'The club and all the people here will always have a special place in my heart.'
Copenhagen said the club had tried to agree a contract extension with Linderoth but failed.
'In light of the offer we received from Galatasaray, a sale was the only useful solution for all parties,' the club said.
