Gordon still unsure of future

Craig Gordon admits he has no idea whether he will still be at Hearts next season - but believes the events of the last 12 months have made him a better goalkeeper and a stronger man. Gordon ended what has been a turbulent season on a high with a clean sheet for Scotland in Wednesday's night's crucial Euro 2008 qualifier in the Faroe Islands, helping the national team to a 2-0 win. He now has a couple of weeks to reflect on the previous campaign and contemplate what the future may hold before the hard work begins again in earnest. Gordon is the only surviving member of the 'Riccarton Three', who hit the headlines back in October for revealing 'significant unrest' in the Tynecastle dressing room under majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov's control of the club. Steven Pressley and Paul Hartley left the Edinburgh club within months, both joining SPL champions Celtic, while Gordon remained in Gorgie. He has since had a £10million price tag put on his heat by Jambos assistant coach Stevie Frail and is believed to be attracting serious interest from the Barclays Premiership. And Gordon believes life at Tynecastle has prepared him well for the future - no matter what it holds. He said: 'These things are sent to try you and you have to come out the other side. I definitely think I've come out a better and stronger goalkeeper and as a person as well. 'I thought I started the season very well and then the wheels kind of came off at Hearts and I would be lying if I said it didn't affect me. 'Towards the end of the season, things started to pick up and my own form has come back with it.' He added: 'I don't know what to expect (in terms of bids), I'll just need to wait and see what happens over the summer. 'The speculation doesn't faze me at all, it's something that's part and parcel of the game. 'If you're doing well there will be speculation so I think it's a positive thing and I must be doing something right if there's speculation.' Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor earned his first Scotland cap in last week's 1-0 friendly win in Austria, after finally making the gloves his own at Ibrox this season. And Gordon admits there is now increased competition to retain his status as Scotland number one. He said: 'I've got to be playing first team football and playing well to keep my place. When I do play for my country, I've got to continue doing what I've been doing. 'I don't take anything for granted. He's got his first cap now and I'm sure he will be hungry for more.'
