Estonia suffered a blow on the eve of tomorrow's Euro 2008 qualifier against England after it was announced full-back Raio Piiroja would miss the game through suspension.
Piiroja was expected to start in Tallinn until UEFA contacted the Estonian FA to inform them the defender, who plays for Fredrikstad in Norway, was not available.
The 27-year-old has been shown four yellow yards in the qualification period although he thought two had already been wiped out when he served a ban for being sent off in October's clash against Russia.
'I am gutted that I cannot play against England,' Piiroja said. 'I am totally shocked. I was told before the game with Croatia that one yellow card would not leave me suspended for the England game.'
Piiroja's disappointment is heightened by the fact several Premiership scouts are expected to be in attendance.
He added: 'I feel like I have been stabbed in the back. This doesn't just ruin one game, it ruins my possible future career.
'Scouts were watching me already in the Croatia game, but the interest was obviously bigger for the upcoming match.
'If I were a manager and heard that a player will skip the England game due to suspension, I wouldn't be too impressed.'
