Premier Showdown - Apr 21/22

Our ears are still ringing from Tommy Smyth's vitriol after we dared to accuse him of having a 'rare' victory last weekend. Tommy was all too quick to point out that he's won two out of the last three rounds!

It's good to see Tommy having a good run at the end of the season, but he's getting in the way of a supreme title battle! Dale Johnson and the Rest of the World are level pegging with only four more rounds to go. It really couldn't be any more exciting.

Joining us for the latest round is Sameer Ahmad.

Sameer tells us: 'Hey, I live in Connecticut, USA and I'm in my teens. I'm a lifelong Manchester United supporter.

'I have three brothers, and I love football - it's the beautiful game! If I get picked, you might not be happy with the blowout ROTW will receive. Glory, Glory, Man United!'

It's time to play!

Each week one of our readers, or an ESPNSoccernet Press Pass viewer, will get the chance to challenge our two experts. They, along with the challenger, will cast their eyes over weekend's top flight fixtures in England and predict how they think each game will turn out.

Soccernet's Premiership Editor, Dale Johnson, and Press Pass pundit Tommy Smyth take up the challenge from our team.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the result has been worked out, the winning pundit will receive three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total will be added to the 'Rest of the World's' tally. In the case of a draw, the points will be shared between those level on points.

Dale must have thought he'd have a victory in the bag after picked up a correct scoreline in the first game of the weekend at White Hart Lane, but it was hard work for all concerned thereafter. More joy from the in-form Tommy who forces a draw - and now the ROTW have work to do with three to go!

Score after 35 rounds:
Dale: 44.5
Rest of the World: 43
Tommy: 17.5

You can tune in to ESPNSoccernet Press Pass every Friday to see the picks revealed, and the previous week's results analysed. They will also be displayed here at Soccernet.
