Premier Showdown - Feb 24/25

It seems like an age ago now, but last time out Poohdish Rattanavijai brought the Rest of the World back on level terms with Dale Johnson at the top of the table.

It means the run-in to the season couldn't be more exciting (could it?) as the ROTW look to hold on to their Premier Showdown crown.

Looking to open up a lead for the ROTW this time around is Steve Spector as the competition comes home to England!

Steve is from Hounslow, near London, and he's a lifelong Chelsea supporter, having watched them when they nearly dropped into the old Division Three! He bemoans that he can't go anymore as you can never get a ticket!

Our challenger is in the exports business at the airport and has always fancied himself as a football pundit. 'After all if Graham Taylor thinks he can do it with his record, then so can I!,' crows Steve.

Let's play!

Each week one of our readers, or an ESPNSoccernet Press Pass viewer, will get the chance to challenge our two experts. They, along with the challenger, will cast their eyes over weekend's top flight fixtures in England and predict how they think each game will turn out.

Soccernet's Premiership Editor, Dale Johnson, and Press Pass pundit Tommy Smyth take up the challenge from our team.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the result has been worked out, the winning pundit will receive three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total will be added to the 'Rest of the World's' tally. In the case of a draw, the points will be shared between those level on points.

Steve's correct result at White Hart Lane edges him in front of Dale for the week - and drags the ROTW to the top of the tree. They have the momentum and now look favourites to retain their crown!

Score after 28 rounds:
Rest of the World: 38.5
Dale: 35.5
Tommy: 10

You can tune in to ESPNSoccernet Press Pass every Friday to see the picks revealed, and the previous week's results analysed. They will also be displayed here at Soccernet.

So do you think you can beat the best of the best? Now is your chance to find out!

Send us your picks for next weekend's fixtures, along with your name and a few details about yourself. We'll select one person each week to take on our experts for the right to be crowned the weekly winner!

Then log on to Soccernet on Sunday evening to find out who's taken the points.
