Celtic's Gravesen unhappy with bench role

Thomas Gravesen will not be willing to sit on the Celtic bench for much longer, his agent has warned.

The Danish midfielder, 30, loves life in Glasgow but is unhappy at being reduced to a substitute for the Scottish champions.

He was on the bench for Celtic's Champions League clash with AC Milan on Tuesday night.

And his representative John Sivebaek told the Scottish Sun: 'It can be difficult for footballers who have ambitions to accept these things.

'Sometimes you have to - then look at your future over the next six months or year.

'Thomas loves Glasgow and is happy with Celtic. But he doesn't know why he is out of the team at the moment.

'It is a bit too early to conclude things. But, of course, Thomas won't accept being a substitute forever.'

He could now be offered an escape route by Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy.

Gravesen played alongside David Beckham at Real Madrid last season and could be offered the opportunity to join forces with him again.

Head coach Frank Yallop told the Herald: 'Thomas Gravesen would be welcome here at Galaxy.

'He is a very good player with great experience at the highest level of club and international football.

'I think he could be a superstar in MLS and I'm sure it would be a pleasure for David Beckham to play with him again.

'If he is not satisfied at Celtic, it would be a perfect opportunity to play in MLS with our club.'
