Universitario coach leaves under a cloud
LIMA, Feb 15 (Reuters) - Universitario coach Jorge Amado Nunes left the Peruvian club on Thursday after only three matches of the new season.
'The club has come to a mutual agreement with Jorge Amado Nunes and he will not coach the team any more,' said club spokesman Aldo Mosto.
The Paraguayan, in charge for 11 months, left amid fierce criticism of his work and reports that he had fallen out with several players.
Universitario are Peru's most successful team with 24 national titles, the last in 2000. Since then, they have suffered from chronic administrative and financial problems.
Amado's departure came the day after a humiliating 2-1 defeat against newly promoted Deportivo Municipal which left the team with four points from three games.
