Norwich promise not to wave 'white flag' at Chelsea

Norwich manager Peter Grant insists his side will not be 'waving the white flag' when they meet Chelsea in the FA Cup on Saturday after coming through a tricky fourth round replay against Blackpool.

Two superb goals from Darren Huckerby helped the Canaries overcome a brave challenge from the Seasiders, though efforts from Michael Jackson and Shaun Barker appeared to be sending the tie to penalties before Chris Martin struck to earn the Canaries a 3-2 win and a dream tie at Stamford Bridge.

Grant said: 'There's no way we will just go there and defend - we haven't got the players to do that.

'We've got a lot of good attacking players in this squad and we'll go there and give it a right good go. There will be no waving of the white flag and we're certainly not just going there for a big party. Whenever I go into a game I'm always looking to try and win it and this one will be no different.

'Obviously there's a huge gulf between the two sides - I've got good players and wherever you look Chelsea have got world-class players, but upsets have always happened in this competition and so far this season there hasn't really been one.

'Hopefully we can change all that. If we play as well as we can I think we can cause them a problem but having said that I'm under no illusions about the size of the task. I played them twice last season when I was with West Ham and we lost both times so I know exactly what to expect.'
