Sheffield Wednesday have accepted a bid from Charlton for central defender Madjid Bougherra.
The Owls had previously rejected a £1.3million offer for the 24-year-old.
However, the Premiership strugglers made an 'improved offer' for the Algeria international on Friday which met Wednesday's valuation.
Both Championship promotion favourites Birmingham and the Addicks were reportedly interested in the defender but only Alan Pardew's side made a firm offer.
Owls chairman Dave Allen declared earlier in the week that he would only listen to offers of around £3million for Bougherra, 24, who arrived on a free transfer in the summer from French side Gueugnon.
Bougherra is now expected to travel to London for talks and a medical.
