RIO DE JANEIRO, Jan 26 (Reuters) - Santos continued their flying start to the season by winning their fourth game in nine days to maintain their 100 percent record.
Midfielder Cleber Santana scored twice, taking his personal tally to five goals, as Vanderlei Luxemburgo's team won 3-2 at Bragantino in the Paulista (Sao Paulo state) championship on Thursday night.
Rodrigo Tiui scored the other goal for Santos as former Brazil and Real Madrid coach Luxemburgo made a winning return to Bragantino, the small club where he began his coaching career 18 years ago.
Santos, whose ambition this season is to win the South American Libertadores Cup for the first time since their two victories in 1962 and 1963, have a maximum points from 12 games.
They begin their Libertadores campaign with a preliminary round match away to Bolivia's Blooming next Wednesday.
Palmeiras, who have played three games, also maintained their 100 percent record under new coach Caio Junior when they beat Santo Andre 1-0. Midfielder Marcelo Costa scored the only goal with a deflected shot in the first half.
