Former Columbia striker Ricard facing jail
Former Middlesbrough striker Hamilton Ricard has been sentenced to three years in prison after running over and killing a man more than four years ago.
The accident happened in December 2002 in Zarzal, where the former Colombia international ran over four people - fatally including 17-year-old Edgar Andres Rosero Garces.
Ricard, 33, who played more than 100 games for Boro between February 1998 and July 2002, was also ordered to pay more than £68,000 in compensation.
Lawyers acting on behalf of Ricard, now playing with Uruguayan side Danubio, are appealing against the decision.
