Hertha defender Samba to beat path to Rovers
Blackburn are close to completing the signing of Hertha Berlin defender Christopher Samba.
The 22-year-old had a four-day trial with Rovers earlier this month after falling out of favour at the Olympic Stadium.
Hertha coach Falko Gotz said: 'We are waiting for the fax to arrive at any minute. It would be great for him if it works out.'
Frenchman Samba is set sign a two-and-a-half-year contract with Rovers and Hertha general manager Dieter Hoeness indicated that the mooted transfer would pave the way for the club's youngsters to shine.
'With Jerome Boateng and Christopher Schorch, we have two young defenders who are forcing their way into the first team,' said Hoeness.
'So in that sense we can understand that Christopher wants to move to a club where he can play.'
