Premier Showdown - Jan 13/14

It was a great Christmas for Tommy Smyth as he put together an amazing run of two wins and a draw to finally banish the demons of his poor start to the campaign. But he has a lot of work to do if he is to fully repair the damage!

The ROTW had a bit of a shocker meaning Dale Johnson's healthy lead at the top of the table remains - he's on course to take back the Premier Showdown crown at the end of the season.

Joining the party for the first weekend fixture list of 2007 is Vinod Mirchandani who resides in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay.

Vinod, 42, tells us: 'Hi Dale and Tommy. I have been living in Paraguay for the last three years though I have been an Arsenal supporter since 1970 when I was in boarding school in Oswestry, Shropshire.

'I fancy having a bash against you both.'

Game on!

Each week one of our readers, or an ESPNSoccernet Press Pass viewer, will get the chance to challenge our two experts. They, along with the challenger, will cast their eyes over weekend's top flight fixtures in England and predict how they think each game will turn out.

Soccernet's Premiership Editor, Dale Johnson, and Press Pass pundit Tommy Smyth take up the challenge from our team.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the result has been worked out, the winning pundit will receive three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total will be added to the 'Rest of the World's' tally. In the case of a draw, the points will be shared between those level on points.
