Shanghai turn down PSV loan for Sun Xiang
BEIJING, Jan 9 (Reuters) - Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua have turned down an offer from Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven to take midfielder Sun Xiang on a six-month loan, local media reported on Tuesday.
PSV offered 150,000 euros ($195,500) for the 24-year-old, with an optional one million euro transfer fee, but club officials said the deal had come too late.
'We offered PSV a chance last year, and if they had offered the deal at that time, we would have let Sun move,' Shenhua general manager Wu Jinan told the Shanghai Daily.
Sun and his twin brother and team mate, Sun Ji, had a two-week trial with PSV in November.
