Pedroto to work at Angola's Petro Atletico
LUANDA, Jan 7 (Reuters) - Portuguese coach Bernardino Pedroto, who quit former Angolan champions AS Aviacao this week, has taken up a new role as technical director at rivals Petro Atletico, the state-run ANGOP news agency said.
Pedroto, who won successive GiraBola titles in 2002, 2003 and 2004 with the airline-owned club, will work at all level of the club but will not coach the first team. That job remains with Brazilian Djalma Cavalcante, who will lead Petro in their upcoming African Champions League campaign.
Pedroto, a former coach of Vitoria Guimaraes in Portugal, left ASA after being told the club's precarious financial situation would mean the sale of key players and a limited budget for new purchases ahead of the start of the new season next month.
