LONDON, Dec 29 (Reuters) -- Wigan Athletic have signed Norway midfielder Kristofer Haestad from IK Start on loan for the rest of the season.
"He is a player who I think has the right attributes to play in this country," Wigan manager Paul Jewell told the Premier League club's official Web site (www.wiganlatics.co.uk) on Friday.
"He can play anywhere across the middle and, at 23, he is exactly the right age to come and test himself in the Premiership."
Haestad, who has won 11 caps, was Jewell's second signing in as many days.
Sweden and Helsingborg defender Andreas Granqvist, 21, joined Wigan on loan for the rest of the season on Thursday.
