ST PETERSBURG, Dec 28 (Reuters) - Zenit St Petersburg striker Alexander Kerzhakov has signed a 5-1/2-year contract with Spanish side Sevilla, the Russian club said on Thursday.
Zenit also said they had signed a long-term partnership deal with the UEFA Cup holders worth 15 million euros ($19.7 million).
'I think this is one of the biggest deals in Russia's soccer history,' Zenit sporting director Konstantin Sarsania said. 'It includes many facets of soccer business. Kerzhakov's transfer is just one of them.'
Media reports have put the transfer fee for the 24-year-old Russian international at around 5 million euros.
Kerzhakov, who was the Russian Premier League's top scorer just two years ago, was surplus to requirements after Dutch coach Dick Advocaat took over Zenit in July.
Zenit, backed by the immense resources of Russian energy giant Gazprom, also signed Argentine forward Alejandro Dominguez and Russia striker Pavel Pogrebnyak on three-year deals earlier this month.
