Holland: PSV hammer Willem II 4-0

ROTTERDAM, Dec 23 (Reuters) - PSV Eindhoven hit three goals in the opening 22 minutes to ease to a 4-0 win over Willem II Tilburg on Saturday, their 12th consecutive victory in the Dutch league.

Patrick Kluivert's backheel set up the first for Ibrahim Afellay after four minutes and the experienced striker also laid on the second for Arouna Kone.

Timmy Simons nodded in the third from a corner by Edison Mendez before Diego Tardelli completed the rout with 19 minutes left.

PSV, who have not conceded a goal for 919 minutes, are 10 points clear at the top with 49 points from 18 matches.

Feyenoord, fifth on 35, warmed up for their Dec. 26 clash with PSV by beating Sparta 3-2 in the Rotterdam derby.

Ivan Cvetkov put Sparta in front with a close-range header before Angelos Charisteas equalised in the 17th minute.

Theo Lucius converted a 29th-minute penalty for Feyenoord but Iderlindo Moreno Freire levelled a minute into the second half.

Tim Vincken then fired the winner for hosts Feyenoord with 15 minutes to go.

AZ Alkmaar, second on 39 points, host NEC Nijmegen on Sunday while third-placed Ajax Amsterdam (38) travel to Vitesse Arnhem.

Heerenveen beat Excelsior Rotterdam 2-0 to move up to sixth on 29 points. Afonso Alves grabbed his 17th goal of the season before Lasse Nilsson sealed the win.

Brazilian Leonardo, who will join Ajax after the winter break, salvaged a 2-2 draw for NAC Breda with an 81st-minute equaliser at home to second-from-bottom ADO Den Haag.
