Premier Showdown - Dec 16-18

What a performance from Sushant Kaw! The young Fijian left Dale Johnson and Tommy Smyth trailing in his wake with superb round. His total of 11 points was all our experts could muster between them!

It all means that the Rest of the World team have, amazingly, all but demolished Dale's lead which at one point looked as though it may be unassailable. Even more remarkable is that the ROTW could even be back on top of the table, and in pole position to defend their crown, on Christmas Day.

We're in England to find our challenger this week. Joining us is Nikatsekpe Eyinmisan. He is a postgraduate student sudying Biotechnology.

Nikatsekpe, 26, lives in the East Yorkshire City of Hull. He tells us: 'I'm a 'Die-Hard' Manchester United supporter and I believe they are the best team in the world. This season seem like it will end up like 98/99 (the Treble).

'Not withstanding the hostility from Chelsea we will see the season through. Catch us if you can Chelsea! My favourite international team are the super Eagles of Nigeria; obviously as a Nigerian I wish the Super Eagles will put their acts together and land a major trophy soon.'

Game on!

Each week one of our readers, or an ESPNSoccernet Press Pass viewer, will get the chance to challenge our two experts. They, along with the challenger, will cast their eyes over weekend's top flight fixtures in England and predict how they think each game will turn out.

Soccernet's Premiership Editor, Dale Johnson, and Press Pass pundit Tommy Smyth take up the challenge from our team.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline

  • One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the result has been worked out, the winning pundit will receive three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total will be added to the 'Rest of the World's' tally. In the case of a draw, the points will be shared between those level on points.

Fulham's victory over Middlesbrough was enough for Dale to squeek home to victory. It means he re-opens a nice little lead and will indeed be top at Christmas!

    Score after 18 rounds:
    Dale: 29.5
    Rest of the World: 22
    Tommy: 2.5
