Pepe double keeps Porto five points clear

LISBON, Dec 17 (Reuters) - Defender Pepe scored twice in Porto's 4-0 win over 10-man Pacos Ferreira that restored their five point lead in the Portuguese Premier League on Sunday.

After their seventh successive victory, Porto lead the standings with 37 points from 14 matches followed by Sporting, who beat Academica 1-0 on Saturday, on 32.

Benfica regained third spot on Saturday as they moved to 26 points from 13 games with a 3-0 home win over Vitoria Setubal.

Braga, who host Boavista on Monday, are a further three points behind in fourth place.

Porto's Brazilian-born central defender Pepe opened the scoring when he tapped the ball home following a goalmouth scramble in the 25th minute.

The champions doubled their lead through striker Helder Postiga after Pepe hit the bar three minutes before the break.

Pacos defender Edson was sent off for a professional foul on Pepe two minutes after halftime and Pepe scored Porto's third goal four minutes later by heading in a corner from Quaresma.

Argentine midfielder Lucho Gonzalez sealed their biggest league win this season with the fourth three minutes from time.
