Robben confident of overhauling United
Chelsea winger Arjen Robben insists the champions can still overhaul Manchester United and win the Premiership title.
The Holland international was exceptional against Newcastle on Wednesday night when Didier Drogba's 74th-minute goal reduced the gap behind United to five points.
The former PSV Eindhoven player believes that gap can be cut still further once injuries begin to take their toll on Sir Alex Ferguson's side.
Robben said: 'They may have a problem when two or three of their key players get injured. I don't know if it is an advantage. We are happy at the moment and confident that we can win it.
'The most important thing is that we have to win every game and that is all we can do. We must concentrate on our own game and our performance and not compare ourselves with what Man United are doing.
'Christmas is coming and maybe next month the gap might have changed. The Champions League and FA Cup are starting again next year so all the teams will have so many games.
'Everything can change if Arsenal keep winning and both us and Man United drop points but we have to keep winning to keep that gap below us while trying to catch United.
'I expected a bit more of Arsenal this season, but they have lost quite a lot of games and I am a bit surprised. I also expected Liverpool to be closer to us.'
Robben has found himself frozen out for much of the season as Blues boss Jose Mourinho opted for a 4-4-2 formation with Andriy Shevchenko and Drogba in attack. But the Dutchman insists he is clever enough to play alongside either striker.
Robben added: 'I can play as one of the strikers. My form is quite good. I think Jose is taking note. I did well when I came on against Arsenal and when I started against Newcastle.
'As a player you always want to play. But we've been playing a lot of 4-4-2 this season. The only thing I have to do is show him my qualities in training and when I play.
'That's the only thing I can do and I think I've done that. I was injured at the start of the season but I think I've been playing well since I came back.
'I've played in the middle with Didier and I think I can play in that system - for me it is not a problem.
'I would rather show him (Mourinho) on the pitch than go and see him. I don't think that is the thing to do.'
