George Boateng has had his appeal against a four-match ban for his sending off at Tottenham upheld by the Football Association.
The Middlesbrough captain was red carded after a scuffle broke out between the sides four minutes from the end of Spurs' 2-1 win at White Hart Lane on Tuesday night.
Boro successfully argued wrongful dismissal and Boateng will now be available for Saturday's Barclays Premiership game against Wigan.
The 31-year-old was facing a four rather than three-match ban, because he had already been sent off this season.
Didier Zokora was also dismissed for the home side, but Spurs decided not to appeal against the Ivory Coast midfielder's red card.
Meanwhile, Boro have confirmed they will deny a separate charge that their players failed to conduct themselves in an orderly fashion during the same incident.
