MILAN, Dec 6 (Reuters) - Serie B bottom club Arezzo reached the Italian Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday by knocking out top flight opponents Livorno with a surprise 3-2 aggregate win.
Arezzo drew 1-1 at Livorno to make the last eight after striker Antonio Floro Flores equalised 11 minutes from time with a well-taken goal on the break after Paulinho had put the home side in front on the night in the 42nd minute.
Arezzo, who won the first leg 2-1, are rooted to the foot of Serie B with two points while Livorno, who are in the UEFA Cup, stand fourth in Serie A.
In Wednesday's other tie, Empoli won 1-0 at Serie B club Genoa thanks to an 18th minute penalty from Nicola Pozzi which gave them a 2-0 aggregate win.
The two clubs join AC Milan, Inter Milan, AS Roma, Sampdoria and Chievo Verona in the last eight with the final spot being decided on Thursday when Serie B side Napoli attempt to defend a 1-0 lead in their second-leg tie at Parma.
