Lokomotiv and Cherno out of Bulgarian Cup

SOFIA, Nov 30 (Reuters) - Holders CSKA Sofia and league leaders Levski Sofia reached the last eight of Bulgarian Cup on Thursday but last season's finalists Cherno More Varna and Lokomotiv Sofia went out of the competition on penalties.

Pirin Blagoevgrad keeper Ivailo Ivanikov saved three spot kicks to become the hero of the match as Lokomotiv Sofia, who are third in the league, lost 4-3 in a penalty shootout at the second division club after a 2-2 draw at the end of extra time.

Referee Martin Bogdev showed 17 yellow and two red cards during the match.

Cherno More Varna were also dumped out 4-3 on penalties by Vihren after both sides failed to score in 120 minutes.

CSKA beat second division Montana 2-1 while their lacklustre city rivals Levski needed extra time to overcome resilient Chernomorets Burgas 1-0 thanks to a goal by substitute Valeri Domovchiyski.

Yordan Yurukov put CSKA in front in the 56th minute after Velizar Dimitrov's cross from the right. Romanian Eugen Trika put the match beyond doubt with a fine solo effort 10 minutes from time.

The home side, accompanied by a brass band during the match, managed a consolation goal with Miroslav Antonov scoring from the spot in the closing stages after Valentin Iliev's handball.

Brazilian striker Sandrinho and Dutch winger Thijs Sluijter were among the scorers in Litex Lovech's 4-0 demolition of Rilski Sportist.
