Ligue One: Troubled PSG draw with Nantes

PARIS, Nov 26 (Reuters) -Troubled Paris St Germain drew 1-1 with fellow strugglers Nantes on Sunday in the capital side's first match since one of their fans was shot dead by a policeman.

PSG's Ivory Coast forward Bonaventure Kalou struck from the edge of the box two minutes into the game in Nantes but the home side levelled against the run of play on 76 minutes courtesy of midfielder and captain Frederic Da Rocha.

Some 200 PSG fans took part in a silent march around the stadium before a match played under tight scrutiny. No incidents were reported.

Julien Quemener, a 25-year-old PSG fan, was shot dead by a policeman following PSG's 4-2 defeat by Hapoel Tel Aviv in the UEFA Cup on Thursday.

Witnesses said the policeman opened fire on a mob of PSG fans who were chasing a Jewish supporter of the Israeli team outside Parc des Princes in Paris. The policeman, who said he had acted in self-defence, has not been charged.

The fan was a member of the Boulogne Boys, a group of supporters comprising far-right sympathisers, some registered by police as violent.

PSG hooligans ransacked a motorway station near Nantes on their way back from a league match there last season.

Leaders Olympique Lyon will secure the lead halfway through the championship if they beat Auxerre later on Sunday.

Second-placed Lille were held to a frustrating 1-1 home draw by struggling Monaco in Ligue 1 on Saturday.

Monaco, 16th in the 20-team division, went in front with a 37th-minute goal from Serge Gakpe.

Lille equalised through Mathieu Bodmer in the 77th minute and now have 26 points from 15 matches, 11 adrift of leaders Olympique Lyon.

The five-times champions play their game in hand on Sunday when they entertain AJ Auxerre.

Former Liverpool striker Anthony Le Tallec struck twice as Sochaux rose to third with a 3-1 win at promoted Lorient.

Sylvain Marchal put Lorient in front in the second minute before Sochaux rallied with two goals in three minutes from Le Tallec and a penalty by Karim Ziani on the stroke of halftime.

Alain Perrin's side extended their unbeaten run to seven matches as they joined Lille on 26 points.

Midfielder Alejandro Alonso scored with 20 minutes to go to earn Girondins Bordeaux, in sixth spot, a 1-0 victory over St Etienne.

Olympique Marseille were held to a 1-1 draw by relegation-threatened Troyes.

Hosts Troyes opened the scoring through Yann Lachuer after 18 minutes, the former AJ Auxerre playmaker volleying in a Gael Danic cross.

Seventh-placed Marseille, who ended a four-match losing streak by beating Valenciennes last weekend, levelled through striker Toifilou Maoulida after 61 minutes.

Marseille forward Mickael Pagis was sent off for a dangerous tackle on midfielder Blaise Matuidi in the 71st.

An 86nd-minute effort by Gregory Pujol helped bottom club Sedan salvage a 2-2 draw at Nice while Toulouse beat Stade Rennes 1-0 thanks to a Bryan Bergougnoux penalty.

RC Lens can leapfrog Lille if they win at Le Mans on Sunday.
