Todd set for Rovers return against Feyenoord

Andy Todd could make a dramatic return to the Blackburn side for the UEFA Cup game against Feyenoord tonight.

Todd is on standby to replace Andre Ooijer, who took a knock in the draw against Tottenham at the weekend.

The Holland defender's fitness will be monitored in the hours leading up to the game and should he fail to make it, Hughes will have little option but to turn to 32-year-old Todd.

Lucas Neill remains sidelined with a hamstring strain while Stephane Henchoz is ineligible.

Todd, meanwhile, has fallen down the pecking order and has made only two appearances this season.

Hughes said: 'Andre got a kick on his leg against Tottenham and we will make a decision in the morning.

'There is some bruising and a bit of bleeding. I would not rate him more than 50-50 at the moment.'

Turkish playmaker Tugay, however, will feature despite a one-match domestic ban after he was sent off against Tottenham.

Hughes was disappointed the appeal was rejected.

He said: 'The punishment outweighed the crime. We conceded a penalty and we lost Tugay for a long part of the game.'

It will be a sentimental moment for Australia international Brett Emerton when he lines up against his former club after spending three years at Feyenoord.

He said: 'They are in my blood as they gave me a chance to play at a high level.

'Feyenoord helped me become the footballer I am today and coming here feels like coming home.

'This is one of the best stadiums and one of the best bunch of fans I have had the pleasure in playing in front of.'

Blackburn are almost home and dry in the group, having chalked up victories against Wisla Krakow and Basle.

Hughes said: 'It will be a great atmosphere as it is quite an intimidating stadium.

'This is a big test for us against Feyenoord but we face these tests regularly when we go away from Ewood Park.

'We have acquitted ourselves well in the UEFA Cup. Our level of performance has been high in every game.'

Michael Gray looks set to retain his place at the back as Hughes has been pleased with his attitude.

Hughes said: 'Michael did well against Tottenham.

'He has always come into training with the same attitude, whether he has been in or out of the team, and got on with his day-to-day work.'

Blackburn will be backed by 3,000 supporters and Hughes added: 'I am delighted we have taken our allocation. It is an adventure for us all.'
