Fernandez puts Colo Colo in Cop Sud final
MEXICO CITY, Nov 22 (Reuters) - Colo Colo's inspirational midfielder Matias Fernandez scored twice as the Chileans beat Toluca 2-0 away on Tuesday to reach the Copa Sudamericana final.
The 20-year-old, who will join Spain's Villareal next year, opened the scoring with a low shot from the edge of the penalty area in the 15th minute after being set up by 17-year-old striker Alexis Sanchez.
He added the second from a free kick in the 62nd minute to take his tally to nine goals, making him the competition's top scorer ahead of team mate Humberto Suazo.
Colo Colo, who have won their last seven matches in the competition, completed a 4-1 aggregate win in the semi-final tie.
