Bundesliga: Balitsch strike secures Hanover win
BERLIN, Nov 19 (Reuters) - Hanover 96 climbed out of the Bundesliga's relegation zone with a 1-0 victory at Borussia Moenchengladbach on Sunday, their second victory in their last three matches.
Hanno Balitsch blasted an 18-metre shot between the legs of Gladbach defender Marvin Compper that beat U.S. goalkeeper Kasey Keller in the 50th minute.
The victory, which followed a 1-0 win at Bayern Munich two weeks ago and a close 2-1 loss against VfB Stuttgart, lifted Hanover to 15th place on 13 points. Gladbach, now six matches without a win, are just ahead in 14th on goal difference.
In Sunday's other match, midtable teams Arminia Bielefeld and VfL Wolfsburg played out a 0-0 draw.
