Eredivisie: Crushing win keeps PSV top

ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, Nov 18 (Reuters) - PSV Eindhoven scored twice in each half to book a comfortable 4-0 win against Excelsior Rotterdam and move four points clear at the top on the Dutch league on Saturday.

Jan Kromkamp set up Ivorian Arouna Kone after 28 minutes to open the scoring with a header before fullback Alex hammered home a free kick a minute before the break to double the lead.

Jefferson Farfan and Carlos Salcido struck in the final 10 minutes to seal the victory.

PSV are top with 34 points after 13 matches, four more then Ajax Amsterdam, who host Twente Enschede on Sunday.

Feyenoord earned a stunning 3-2 home win over AZ Alkmaar, who had dominated the match and twice came from behind.

Nick Hofs opened the scoring after 28 minutes when he curled a free kick around the wall but three minutes later Demy de Zeeuw equalised from close range for the visitors.

Timothy Derijck restored the lead in the 56th after Alkmaar goalkeeper Job Bulters failed to clear a corner but with 16 minutes remaining Danny Koevermans levelled the match again.

Hofs added his second goal 10 minutes from time to settle the outcome and hand Feyenoord a fifth consecutive win.

Alkmaar remain third with 29 points, three above Feyenoord on 26.

At the bottom, Sparta Rotterdam won 2-1 at NEC Nijmegen, with Jeffrey Vlug and Yuri Rose on target, to register their second win in seven days.

Sparta are now 16th with 10 points, two points above RKC Waalwijk who lost 2-0 at home to Heerenveen.
