MARSEILLE, France, Nov 18 (Reuters) - Franck Ribery, who shone for runners-up France at the World Cup in Germany, will be out of action until the new year with a groin injury.
'It is very important to treat the injury well. I am very disappointed and do not know exactly how long I will be sidelined,' the Olympique Marseille midfielder told reporters.
'Apparently, it will be until after the winter break (Dec. 23-Jan. 6).'
Ribery said he felt pain for the first time the day after Lyon thrashed Marseille 4-1 in Ligue 1 three weeks ago.
'I did not have enough time to rest (after the World Cup ended in July),' he added.
